From the Grunwick strike of ‘76, the London riots of the ‘80s to Reclaim the Streets in the ‘90s David Hoffman has produced one of the strongest collections of iconic images of social change. The David Hoffman Photo Library specialises in these social issues. Work as diverse as the Poll Tax riots, the homeless occupation of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the demolition of ‘60s tower blocks, the growth of violent racist groups in the inner city and the pollution of the North Sea span the subject areas of social injustice, protest, policing, poverty, drugs, homelessness, social conflict and the environment. Based in central London, a selection of the 100,000 photographs are available by ISDN on Image. The wide range of photographs is backed up by a detailed knowledge of the stock and of the issues covered. Visitors by appointment, stock list available on request. Appropriate commissions are welcome, costs may be shared where useful library stock is produced. A BAPLA member and a Specialist Source Library.
